When considering that this is his first season in English football, Issa Diop has performed very well for West Ham United in the opening months of the 2018-19 campaign.
Diop missed West Ham’s first two league games of the season, but has played in all 10 top-flight fixtures since, and was labelled a ‘monster’ by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho for his performance against the Red Devils earlier this season.
Diop did cost £22m from Toulouse during the summer, but is just 21 years of age, and he should be pleased with his early-season form.
That does not seem to be the case, however, with the Frenchman insisting – in quotes carried by West Ham’s official website – that he needs to improve having ‘not played well’ since arriving at the London Stadium.
Whether the central defender actually believes that he has been under-par is another matter entirely, but those were his words.
Check out the video below to see how Brazil fans reacted to being asked how Cristiano Ronaldo would peform for them in a hilarious prank by Playmaker FC…
As expected, the quotes brought a response from the West Ham fans, with the majority hailing the summer arrival for his desire to improve.
