Tottenham Hotspur are keen to sign Rangers teenager Leon King, per Football Insider.
What’s the word?
The 15-year-old has yet to sign a professional contract at Ibrox, despite the club offering him terms.
King has been capped at U16 and U17 level by Scotland and is wanted by a number of top clubs, including Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig.
Spurs are said to have joined the race and Rangers are worried that he could be lured away in the same vein as Billy Gilmour, who is currently playing for Chelsea.

The Scottish club are said to rate King as highly as their former midfielder, who has already made four senior appearances for the Blues.
A leaf out of Pochettino’s book
This would be a very unfamiliar move from Jose Mourinho.
Spurs, of course, were regarded as genuinely exceptional developers of youth players while Mauricio Pochettino was their manager; the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Winks developed into stars under the Argentine’s tutelage.

Mourinho, though, is known more as a manager who brings in experienced winners and is not revered as the kind of boss who prioritises development over anything else.
He would be taking a leaf out of Pochettino’s book were the swoop for King to be completed and it certainly appears that he is highly-rated by the Scottish club.
It remains to be seen if Spurs can beat their competition to the punch but it looks like they should be trying.
Meanwhile, Mourinho has delivered his verdict on Spurs’ win over Wolves.
