Just when you think it’s all over…
Despite reports early last week suggesting that Alexandre Lacazette was in discussions with Atletico Madrid over a move from Lyon, it seems that Liverpool may be ready to table a late bid for the in-demand Frenchman.
According to Mirror Football, Jurgen Klopp is ready to make an offer for Lacazette, who is valued at £34million by Transfermarkt.
The 25-year-old netted an astounding 37 goals in all competitions for Lyon this season, which included scoring 28 goals in just 30 Ligue 1 appearances.
With Daniel Sturridge failing to find form this season and Divock Origi probably not ready to lead the line for Liverpool in Champions League football, Lacazette would be a perfect fit for the club.
While Atletico Madrid still remain favourites to sign the Frenchman, Liverpool are clearly keen too and any slip ups in discussion could see Klopp enter into battle to sign his man.
Liverpool fans took to Twitter over the weekend to share their thoughts on the potential signing of Lacazette…
