WHne Mesut Ozil signed a new contract at Arsenal, the supporters were overjoyed.
The German World Cup winner had previously been linked to Manchester United, so when the announcement regarding his new deal was announced, it was met with plenty of relief.
A few weeks prior, the Gunners had lost Alexis Sanchez to the Red Devils in a swap deal that resulted in Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving to the Emirates.
Pressure was heaped on Ozil’s shoulders, not only because he was the main man following Sanchez’s departure, but also because he received a bumper pay package.

According to Sky Sports, the playmaker is now pocketing around £350,000 per week, but his recent performances have not warranted such a wage.
In the second leg against Atletico Madrid in the Europa League final, the midfielder was anonymous.
Ozil was also left out of Sunday’s 5-0 rout over Burnley due to a back problem, which departing manager Arsene Wenger claimed is likely to keep the player out of action for the rest of the season.
It is safe to say that Arsenal fans are not best pleased with their player.
